CHEN Lai, Professor of Philosophy at Tsinghua University, serves as Dean of the Institute of Chinese Classics and Vice Chair of the Academic Committee. A preeminent representative of contemporary Neo-Confucianism, he holds multiple prestigious positions including President of the Chinese Society for the History of Philosophy, Member of the Central Research Institute of Culture and History, Committee Member of the Ministry of Education's Social Science Board, President of the Chinese Zhu Xi Society, Honorary President of the China Association for Zhu Xi Studies, President of the Chinese Feng Youlan Research Association, Deputy Executive Director of the International Society for Chinese Philosophy, and Vice Chairman of the International Confucian Association. His scholarly work focuses on Confucian philosophy, Neo-Confucianism from the Song to Qing dynasties, and modern Confucian thought.
