    The definitive reference work for IT professionals: A Comprehensive English-Chinese Computer Dictionary hits the market.

    The Tsinghua Literary series releases its first title.

    TUP launches landmark Chinese edition of Dubbel Handbook of Mechanical Engineering.

    TUP becomes the first Chinese publisher to secure translation rights for advanced computer technology titles from Microsoft.

    Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper visits a high school in Guangzhou and sends students the Chinese version of Anne of Green Gables published by TUP.

    Property Rights: Norms and Doctrines--Focusing on the Interpretation of Chinese Property Law (Volumes 1 and 2) and Nano Research are honored at the China Publishing Government Awards, the nation's highest accolade in publishing, winning the Book and Journal Award respectively.

    The Japanese Rights License Ceremony for Seven Thousand Years of Chinese Costumes takes place at the 20th Tokyo International Book Fair.

    The Nano Research Award has been established to honor exceptional contributions in the field of nanotechnology, and the inaugural laureate is Professor Charles M. Lieber from the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Biology at Harvard University.
